When Ugne and Giles first got in touch with me about their autumnal city wedding in Nottingham, I was so excited – they were planning the most relaxed pub wedding with a colourful theme, Lithuanian traditions and a good party. I had met the couple at one of their friend’s weddings, and they liked the fact that I blended in and was friendly. Here’s what they had to say about working with me:“Charlotte was everything we could have asked for in a photographer, and the best recommendation we had throughout our wedding planning! Her relaxed, candid photos were exactly what we were looking for. On the day she subtly captured so many lovely family moments, as well as funny evening antics we might have missed. Her photos perfectly capture how it felt, and colourful, fun day we wanted. Both sets of parents have already been in tears. We’ve spent a lovely day reliving everything with our families, and noticing new things each time around! You have been amazing and these photos are truly wonderful, thank you so much.’“Getting ReadyI rocked up at The Lace Market Hotel, where the girls were getting ready. Ugne wore a bridal jumpsuit from ASOS. It was a fuss-free, chilled out morning and then a quick drive across to West Bridgford in Nottingham for the wedding. The WeddingThe wedding took place at The Riverside Gallery above the Brewhouse and Kitchen. I love this part of Nottingham, right by the river with a tree-lined walk. It’s got a gorgeous view, especially on a bright, sunny autumnal day like this. It was a quirky legal ceremony, and the room was decorated with multicoloured giant wedding balloons. Afterwards, the couple were quite literally engulfed in a cloud of confetti, and then the celebrations began!ReceptionThe wedding reception took place in the same space, which they’d decorated with a bright, colourful theme including all of their favourite craft beer bottles as table settings, topped with bright paper flowers. Look out for the Pinata Colada flavour! While the guests hit the bar, we wandered outside the venue doing fun and creative portraits. I normally do two short portrait sessions during the day with couple. My favourite photo from our portrait session is down by the river, with Ugne swirling around in her jumpsuit.During the reception they hung out drinking by the river, which gave the afternoon a really chilled vibe. For the meal they had a buffet, and it was gobbled down in seconds by everyone. After dinner there were a few speeches, then the answers to the quiz were revealed and the party got started. They also had a bottle of Devynerios (like Lithuania’s version of Jagermeister) for each table, which kept everyone entertained and rather tipsy ahead of the evening shenanigans! The CoupleUgne and Giles met during their university days and both share a wicked sense of humour. They saw me in action at another wedding and liked that I blended in with everyone. I completely loved how they planned their wedding around bright colours and fun. Here’s their colourful city pub wedding, enjoy!!Suppliers…Venue: https://thegallery.brewhouseandkitchen.com/weddingsFlowers: https://www.paperbouquets.co.uk/Dress: https://www.asos.com/women/Suit: https://www.tedbaker.com/Shoes: https://www.aquazzura.com/enBand: https://www.gotyoucovered.band/If you’re looking for a fun documentary wedding photographer, get in touch here!
