I believe your wedding is a reflection of your personality as a couple. With all your favourite people in attendance, you want to be able to look back in weeks, months and years’ time to remember those unique moments that made all the planning and preparation worthwhile!
My work always factors in the theme, venue and general ambience of your day in a creative manner. I avoid the more traditional wedding photography that often comes across as generic and sticks to a strict set of rules.
I throw out the rulebook and capture photos that are honest, creative and truly timeless.
MY STYLE
My photography style is narrative documentary, meaning your wedding photos will tell the story of the whole day, from the first popped cork (or cup of tea!) during morning preparations right through to the conga line on the dance floor.
From the big wedding moments, to the minute details that make your celebration unique, I’ll be snapping away in a non-intrusive way that ensures all you need to do is have fun.
Your photographs will be edited in my signature style, which you can see demonstrated throughout my website, crafting a consistent and creative look that enhances the best qualities of an image.
REAL MOMENTS
I believe in taking photos that aren’t staged, that feel entirely natural and encapsulate the atmosphere and emotions in an organic way.
My style is story driven, relaxed and always focused on the natural flow of your day. Most of the time, you won’t notice I’m there whilst I work hard in the background! At the same time, I’ll be close by, mixing with your nearest & dearest and immersing myself right where your story unfolds. I’ll build a genuine rapport with guests, allowing them to loosen up and feel more comfortable in front of the lens.
“I didn’t even realise she was taking photos half the time throughout the day and it means we now have some beautiful casual shots of everyone just enjoying the day” – Amy & Adam
Candid photos are often a couple’s favourite shots of the day because they show the fun, silly, emotional and mischievous moments that make up your wedding’s story.
Family group photos can also be factored into the pre-wedding planning to ensure you get all the shots you want from the day. These photos are just as important, and can be done in a short space of time to ensure you get back to having fun.
NATURAL PORTRAITS
You might be feeling uncomfortable about having your photo taken for your couple portraits, but I can guarantee this all melts away on the day.
I strive to create relaxed portraits without forced poses, in an environment that allows you to have a quiet moment to yourselves. I’ll use the unique elements of your venue as the backdrop, making beautiful images that are truly personal to you as a couple.
“She was kind, friendly and unwaveringly professional. At no point did we or our guests feel ‘bossed around’ like we’ve seen at other weddings” – Natacha and Josh
These photos will usually be taken during the drinks reception while your guests chatter, followed by final outdoors shots during the golden hour as the sun sets.
Portraits will be covered in the planning process, and we can discuss your preferences ahead of time.
PLANNING PROCESS
Once you’ve confirmed your booking, we can arrange a pre-wedding consultation to get to know each other and your plans for the day. We can discuss the venue, the theme and any other details that I will need to factor into your bespoke wedding plan.
At least one month before the big day, I’ll complete the planning process with you to include the confirmed times, details and your preferences for photography.
I’ll create a brief to work to, so that I have everything I need in advance to capture the day exactly how we have planned together.
“We could not have asked for a better person to capture our day. From our initial Skype meeting to the wedding day itself, Charlotte has taken the time to really get to know us and make us feel totally at ease in front of the camera.” – Ally & Joe
Throughout the wedding celebrations, I will be on hand taking photos and will plan the logistics for your portraits so they do not intrude on the occasion.
Coverage will include the morning preparations through to three songs after the first dance – when everyone is at their liveliest!
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
Your wedding photos will be delivered normally four to six weeks after your wedding. Read all about my packages on my wedding photography pricing page.
While you wait
Just one week after the wedding date I will send you a short preview of around ten images.
