Wedding season is officially a-go, so it felt like Wedding season is officially a-go, so it felt like the perfect time to say hello! I’ve recently chopped off my long locks, which meant a much-needed profile update was in order too. For those of you who are new here, I’m Charlotte 👋🏻 I’ve been photographing weddings for over a decade, rooted in a background in Fine Art Photography. I’m a Nottingham wedding photographer at heart, but when I’m not behind the lens, I’m usually seeking out inspiration elsewhere 🌿 You’ll often find me hiking in the Peaks, tucked into a fictional novel, or finding my flow on a yoga mat. I love following my curiosity; whether that’s wandering through new cities, getting lost in art galleries and museums, or simply enjoying quiet downtime with my nearest and dearest. At weddings, I am always observing, responding, and creating. My style is documentary wedding photography with an editorial edge. Less posing, more composing - I want to capture you in the most natural way possible, whilst creating a beautiful set of photos that capture your day in the way you want to remember it. I shoot a mix of digital and analogue film; adding film to your gallery brings a tactile, nostalgic quality. I truly value how important the ritual of a wedding is and it’s a privilege to record these stories for a living. The heart of James and Ed’s day was their incredib The heart of James and Ed’s day was their incredibly personal humanist celebrant ceremony at Woodborough Hall, Nottinghamshire. They spent the morning getting ready together, walked down the aisle to the soulful sounds of Nina Simone, and invited the brilliant Louise of @kickassgatherings to lead a ceremony that was completely them; from the love story with guest voting questions, to a joint sing-along to 'Islands in the Stream', every moment felt intentional, relaxed, and full of joy. It is always an honour to document love stories in all their uniqueness, and James and Ed’s day was a perfect example of why I love being a wedding photographer! The ceremony ended with a brilliant twist; a confetti moment involving both petals and ping-pong balls to match their Wimbledon theme! It was more painful than they anticipated... I know many of you are deep in festive prep right I know many of you are deep in festive prep right now - I’m nearly there too, with just one mini wedding shoot to go on Christmas Eve 🎄 Still floating on the cosiest winter wedding vibes from Sarah & Jorge’s day at The Carriage Hall in Nottingham. That huge Christmas tree set the scene perfectly, wrapping the whole day in warmth and candlelit glow. Their daughter was fully involved from start to finish and honestly stole a few hearts along the way - the sweetest presence and such a lovely reminder of what these days are really about. And Sarah & Jorge… just so genuinely happy to be tying the knot. Those smiles say everything! I loved how they had a bespoke ceremony with the friend conducting, and sitting down to exchange rings so that their daughter could reach to assist (too cute!). If you’re planning a winter wedding in Nottinghamshire or Derbyshire and love relaxed, editorial documentary photography that lets moments unfold naturally, this kind of day is hard to beat!
