Suzannah & Gary’s Stylish Celebration Captured on Film & Digital
If you’re looking for a Grangefields Barn analogue film photographer, Suzannah and Gary’s wedding is a brilliant place to start. Their February celebration was a real treat to photograph — full of thoughtful details, relaxed energy and the kind of natural light that photographers quietly hope for.
Tucked away in the Derbyshire countryside, Grangefields is part of the brilliant Cripps & Co family of venues. Originally a working farm, it’s now a beautifully designed barn space with industrial-meets-rustic charm — think exposed brick, steel beams, reclaimed wood and huge windows that flood the space with light. It holds up to 150 guests for ceremonies and 200 for the evening, making it ideal for couples wanting a space that feels both spacious and intimate.
And somehow, in the middle of February, we got the warmest, brightest day — golden afternoon sun pouring in through the windows, lighting up every corner of the barn. The loveliest setting for a creative and joyful celebration!
Why Film? Analogue Wedding Photography at Grangefields Barn
I was assisting the wonderful Magda K Photography for this wedding, and I brought along my 35mm camera to shoot a mix of digital and analogue film.
Film adds something really unique to wedding photography — it’s slower and more intentional, and it captures the day with a softness and depth that’s hard to replicate. Skin tones are warm and true, the colours have this lovely richness, and there’s a nostalgic, almost timeless quality to it all. It makes you slow down and really notice those in-between moments.
I’m now offering film photography as part of my own wedding packages, and I’m so excited to share this with couples who love the idea of a gallery that blends modern storytelling with a nod to the past. If you’re searching for a Grangefields Barn analogue film photographer, I’d love to chat.
Grangefields Wedding Details: Velvet Ribbons, Pears and Trailing Florals
The styling at this wedding deserves a proper moment — it was beautiful!! Each place setting had a green pear with the guest’s name tied on in a deep velvet ribbon, and the long tables were decorated with wild, trailing florals that softened the clean lines of the barn.
It was bold but elegant, playful but polished — a perfect match for Grangefields’ clean, architectural style. The dining area, with its open layout and natural materials, was the ideal backdrop for something so creative and full of texture.
Creative Wedding Photography at Cripps & Co Venues
Keeping my work evolving is something I care about deeply. For me, it’s not about trends — it’s about staying connected to the joy of creating and giving each couple a fresh, thoughtful experience.
Shooting film has become part of that. It encourages me to see things differently, to slow down, and to focus on storytelling in a deeper way. Whether I’m at Grangefields, The Tithe Barn or Hazel Gap Barn, I want each gallery to feel personal and true to the couple at the heart of it.
